Dr. Ortiz is one of the best physicians that I have ever met, and I come from a family of physicians.
Dr. Ortiz is very practical in her approach and is genuine in her care for her patients. She has a great combination of bedside manner, technical skill, and an excellent understanding of rheumatoid diseases. She stays up to date with cutting edge technology and medicine and has an intuition to know exactly how to heal her patients. What I like best with working with her is that she sees the disease and the person, and not just the disease.
With Dr. Ortiz, I noticed that my flareups were few and far between. I also noticed that my care doesn’t have to be complicated or intense or that I had to take a long list of medication. With Dr. Ortiz, I gradually got better and was able to focus on life beyond my medical conditions instead of being ill.

Dr Ortiz always has my health as her priority. Even with a difficult to manage disease, she makes reasonable recommendations and makes sure I am comfortable with moving forward on new treatment plans, medications etc. I definitely got to the point of being able to work and participate in activities I wouldn’t have been able to without her help.
I love her warmth and bedside manner as well as her responsiveness to my concerns and her trust that I knew my body best. I would absolutely recommend her and, in fact, already have.

Prior to meeting Dr. Ortiz, I was resigned to the idea that I would live with daily arthritic pain unless I wanted to subject myself to a substantial steroid regimen (which I strongly did not want to do). Dr. Ortiz worked diligently and cooperatively with my additional specialist, to come up with a treatment plan that improved my arthritis tremendously (to the point that I now live 100% pain free) while not negatively impacting my quality of life.
Aside from receiving great medical care, I am very fond of Dr. Ortiz’s jovial nature, I always feel like she is not just happy to see me but sincerely wants to see me thriving. Professionally, Dr. Ortiz thoroughly reviewed my medical records and pursued studies that actively allowed her to use the best judgements in deciding my treatment plan.

Dr. Ortiz was the first doctor that listened to me and provided me the tests and the diagnosis. She started treatment right away, and monitored my symptoms and worked to get me relief. She helped me and my wife to understand what I’m dealing with and what to expect, and all while being very compassionate. She not only listened to me but then explained everything in terms I can understand. You never feel rushed, she answers all your questions. My wife always joined me on my visits and Dr Ortiz always answered her questions and concerns.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Ortiz. She is very knowledgeable, she listened to me, ran tests and gave me the diagnosis and how we are going to deal and treat the disease. She’s very thorough and compassionate. Dr Ortiz is a treasure. Not too many people look forward to going to a doctor appointment, but, I did. Dr. Ortiz listens to her patients and treats each one as an individual. She helped me manage my medical condition by listening to me, prescribing tests as necessary, and helping me stay on top of my health. Sometime she just listened to my fears and brought a reasonable and educated point of view to help me. If I had blood work or any other tests, she always followed up with me to give her impressions.
I felt more in control of my medical condition. I mostly saw Dr. Ortiz twice a year but I was always able to get in to see her if I had a pressing problem. I think my mental health and outlook improved! I would definitely recommend Dr. Ortiz to my friends and family. She truly cares about her patients. Texas is lucky to have Dr. Ortiz!

What I like best about working with Dr. Ortiz is that she treats you and your condition as uniquely yours. She not only respected the fact that I valued the combination of vitamins, supplements, and diet along with any prescribed medication to treat my arthritis, but she encouraged me to continue.
She listens to you and trusts that you know your own body. She also guides you to make the right decisions for you by informing you of facts that you might not have known about different treatments and medications that may work better for you. I never left an appointment feeling like I was forced to make a decision I didn’t want to make, or felt like I just nodded along with my doctor and blindly followed their instructions. She always gave me her undivided attention, answered all my questions, and thoroughly informed me of all my options when it came to my medication. I always felt that we decided on things together and had real conversations about my health. I really felt like Dr. Ortiz cared about me and what I wanted out of my life, which is something I really value in my doctor.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Ortiz to family and friends! She feels like family when you meet with her and treats you the same. She guided me through my two pregnancies and she was really there for me once I had my children. Dr. Ortiz knew I wasn’t comfortable taking my medication while breastfeeding, and she knew how much I wanted to breastfeed my children for as long as I could. She was there for me when I couldn’t go without the medication any longer and ready to help me so I could get it asap. My family is so grateful that I found a doctor who has taken such amazing care of me like Dr. Ortiz!

I would definitely recommend Dr. Ortiz to any family or friends. In fact, I actually did recommend my mother to her. She is very approachable and knowledgeable and she makes sure that you understand what is going on with your own health. She was always very friendly and willing to listen to anything I needed to ask her and always gave me answers that I could understand. She made sure that I knew which steps we were taking and why we were taking those steps.
I noticed a steady improvement in my health. We started in an emergency situation but were steadily able to decrease the amount of medication that I had to take and she was there with me the whole way. One of my favorite things about Dr. Ortiz is that she makes you feel safe to be able to discuss anything. She is able to listen and take in the information without judgment regarding any problem you might have with your health.
